Choosing the Perfect Place to Stay
Ocean City’s vibe varies by area, so picking the right spot is key. Here’s a breakdown of the three main zones:
Downtown Ocean City:
Yes, we know that traditionally “downtown OC” ends at the stop of the boardwalk on 28th street, but for the sake of this blog, we’ll keep it simple and stretch downtown to 40th street.
(Inlet to 40th Street)- Ideal for families and those who like to be close to the action, here’s a quick feel of downtown OC:
- The lively boardwalk with arcades and amusement parks
- Busy but spacious beaches
- Jolly Roger Amusement Park and Trimper Rides
- Popular eateries such as Shotti’s Point & the Dough Roller

Midtown Ocean City:
(41st to 93rd Street)- The sweet spot for a balanced vibe. Midtown is perfect for those who love a quiet vacation while not being too far from the action.
Here’s a quick feel of Midtown OC:
- Quieter beaches than downtown
- A mix of energy and calm
- Easy access in & out of OC
- Dining and nightlife at Seacrets and Fager’s Island
- Great restaurants like The Hobbit and Longboard Café

North Ocean City:
We typically break North OC into two different sections:
High-Rise Row (94th-118th): A bunch of resort-style condos like the Golden Sands and Sea Watch.
True North (119th-146th): Generally quieter than High-Rise Row, but still close to plenty of attractions.
Here’s a quick feel of North OC:
- Peaceful beaches
- Proximity to Northside Park and Fenwick Island DE
- Popular Restaurants like Liquid Assets & Tail Chasers
- Movie Theatre & Shopping at the Gold Coast Mall
North OC delivers a relaxed, easy going experience while still having plenty of things to do and a short drive to the rest of Ocean City!
