We hope this helps you plan your next visit…… Don’t forget to stop by to say hi to your favorite Vacation Rental Team, here at Central Reservations OC!

1. What are the must-visit attractions in Ocean City, MD?

Explore Ocean City

This is a great question for first-time visitors, or people that haven’t visited OC in a while.

The great news is, there are loads of great options to choose from! A few of our favorites include Jolly Roger amusement park, Trimper Rides, any of the Old Pro Mini-Golf courses, the Nick’s Mini-Golf ropes course, and of course, the world famous OCMD Boardwalk.

If you’ve read our blog before, you know we love one thing about Ocean City…. it’s the wide variety of family friendly activities available to everyone on vacation.

Let’s take a look at the Top 6 fun things to do in OCMD!

2. What is the least crowded beach in Ocean City?

Great news…. Ocean City beaches don’t typically get ‘too’ crowded. (Let’s ignore Saturday on July 4th weekend for argument’s sake).

Yes, it’s true, some areas in Ocean City can be more crowded than others, with the downtown beaches near the Boardwalk typically seeing more people than other areas. So, if you’re looking for an area that consistently sees the fewest people, just follow the locals! Generally speaking, the least crowded beaches are from around 40th street all the way up to about 85th street.

3. What is the best way to get around Ocean City?

The quick answer to this question is- it depends!

Sometimes the traffic coming to Ocean City on a busy Saturday can be quite a lot, which leads some people to believe that this is what traffic is like every single day! Fortunately, that’s not the case.

Most of the time, you can get where you need to go easily. There might be a bit of traffic but not enough to cause significant delays, and nothing like people experience around the big cities!

Now- back to the question. There are a number of ways to get around Ocean City.

Of course, you can always drive. If you’re planning on having an adult-beverage (or two) while you’re out, Ubers are usually very easy to get, and you can get a day pass for the bus for under $5.

4. Are there any unique local foods to try in Ocean City?

Explore OCMD Cuisine

Absolutely! Just about every other blog we write is about places to eat… and that’s for good reason! There are soooo many great places to eat in Ocean City, but if you want to try out the true staples of our town, you need to visit Candy Kitchen for their salt-water taffy, Fisher’s Popcorn, and Thrashers French Fries. Our favorite breakfast place at Barn 34, Sushi at Blue Fish restaurant, or Maryland Blue Crabs at Higgins Crabhouse!

If you’re looking for more about our thoughts on food you’re in Luck!- we’ve written blogs all about great breakfast spots, places for a quick lunch, fine dining, and more!

5. Is there ample parking available in Ocean City?

Parking in Ocean City

There are a lot of people who think that parking at the beach is a (for lack of a better term) disaster. The truth is, if you know WHERE to park, you’ll be just fine.

If you rent an OCMD vacation rental from us, chances are you’ll have some type of assigned parking spaces associated with the property you’re renting.

If you’re coming into Ocean City for a quick beach day, you can always park at the convention center parking lot on 40th Street. They have free parking year-round! If you prefer to park near the boardwalk, the Inlet parking lot is just a few dollars an hour.

At the end of the day, parking isn’t normally an issue. Plan ahead, know where you’re going, and please….Don’t try going to the Boardwalk on Friday afternoon at 6pm, expecting plenty of open spaces! That’s a recipe for disappointment!

6. What is the best time of year to visit Ocean City?

Whenever you want to get away!!

If you’re looking for a warm, fun filled beach vacation to OC with tons of attractions and restaurants available, then Summertime is without a doubt the best time for you.

If you’re vacationing on a budget, but you still want to be able to enjoy the outdoors, visiting during the Spring or Fall months is perfect.

Feel like going someplace different when it’s cold? Take a quick trip to OC and check out our Winterfest of Lights!

The bottom line is, it’s totally up to you, and it’s completely dependent on what you want your OC experience to look like.

7. Are there any safety measures in place at the beach?

Ocean City, MD is a safe place

Absolutely! At the end of the day, this is still a small beach town! Do we still have petty crime, and your typical ‘issues’? We sure do. But if we’re focusing on the big picture, the Town of Ocean City does an impressive job keeping this town safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone…… year-round!

Fun Fact: Did you know that the Town of Ocean City is one of the few beach towns that actually cleans the sand on their beaches, every night of the summer? Next time you’re in town, take a look at the beach at night. You’ll be sure to see large tractors driving up and down the beach, combing’ through the top level of sand to sift out any left-over trash or debris!

Plus, Ocean City also has one of the Top Lifeguard teams in the Country! All summer long there are lifeguards on duty every few streets, every day from 10:00am to 5:30pm.

8. Can I visit Assateague Island from Ocean City?

Wild Horses on Assateague Island

Yes! And we’re glad you asked!

Assateague Island is a short drive away from the beach through West Ocean City. Opportunities for outdoor fun at Assateague Island are just about endless. You can enjoy a great hike, a relaxing beach day, experience scenic views, see the wild horses that roam the island, and even have a nice cookout and bond fire at night!

9. What are some popular activities on the Ocean City boardwalk?

Boardwalk in Ocean City, MD

Phew… this is a loaded question! We could go on and on about all of the different family-friendly activities there are on the boardwalk.

To name a few popular attractions, there are a number of arcades on the boardwalk, the Life Saving station museum, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, and Trimper Rides.
