OCMD Family Vacation Itinerary
Day One
Start your day off by settling into your Central OC vacation rental. Grab some lunch at one of the many locally-owned restaurants like Shotti’s Point and Barn 34, featuring menus with fresh seafood and local produce. Head back to the house, grab your beach bag, umbrella, and chairs, and claim a spot on the beach. Plan to spend a day relaxing, reading, and swimming. The kids will love building sand castles and looking for sand crabs!
Day Two
Get an early start to the day and wake up to watch the sun come up over the ocean. Mornings in Ocean City are quiet and filled with vacationers walking, running, and riding bikes on the boardwalk. Since you’ll be up early, grab coffee and breakfast at one of the local cafes.
Then, you can book a jet ski trip to explore the coastal bays, and learn about the marine life and Assateague ponies that frequent the beaches and sandbars in the bay. If you’re more of a daredevil, book a parasailing trip and gain a new perspective of OCMD from a bird’s eye view. Have lunch or dinner on the bay at Ropewalk Ocean City or Fishtales, with outdoor playgrounds for the kids to enjoy while parents kick back with a drink.
Day Three
For day three, plan to eat breakfast at your Central OC rental, and when everyone’s ready, enjoy an excursion on the bay! Venture out and explore Assateague Island National Seashore. The beach is a bit more rustic, with beautiful dunes in the background. Plus, you can build a bonfire on the beach like a local and pack hotdogs, marshmallows, and firewood for a memorable summer night.
Day Four
On your way out of town, head over to Berlin, known as “America’s Coolest Small Town.” Only 10 miles from Ocean City, the main street in Berlin has over 60 shops, art galleries, and local eateries. The town is walkable and has maintained its historic charm. Kids will love The Mermaid Museum, which you can spot if you look for bubbles floating out of a second-story window. Grab some coffee and a pastry from Baked Dessert Cafe, or sit outside in the center of town for a delicious lunch at the famed Atlantic Hotel.
