1. Catch the July 4th Fireworks

Fireworks in Ocean City MD

Nothing says July 4th like an amazing fireworks display- and let us be the first to tell you, OCMD delivers on fireworks! On July 4, 2025, you can watch two amazing displays: one downtown by the Boardwalk (near N. Division St Beach) and another uptown at Northside Park!

Why It’s Awesome:

It’s totally free to watch from Northside Park or the beach, a great activity for families to celebrate classic 4th of July traditions and believe us… the fireworks look amazing over the water.

Pro Tip: Get there early to grab a good spot, especially at Northside Park. Book an oceanfront rental at centraloc.com to watch from your balcony!

2. Have a Beach Day

Have a beach day in Ocean City!

Start your July 4th weekend with a classic beach day on Ocean City’s 10 miles of clean, sandy shores. Build sandcastles, splash in the waves, or just kick back with a good book while soaking up the holiday spirit (and the sun ).

Why It’s Awesome:

The beaches in OCMD are some of the cleanest on the eastern shore! Plus, it’s 100% free and there are lifeguards every few streets, so you always feel safe in the water.   *Did you know that Ocean City has some of the cleanest beaches in the country?   They employ a team of tractors that actually clean the beach every night of the summer season!

Pro Tip: Bring a cooler and get to the beach early, since July 4th can get a bit busy. If you love the beach but you’re vacationing on a budget, book an Ocean block vacation rental to save money while still being steps away from the sand.

3. Grab a Family Meal

Hooked: Try fresh seafood or burgers in a cozy spot on 81st Street that kids love too.

The Dough Roller: A local go-to for pizza!

Pro Tip: Make a reservation early, as July 4th is super busy. Check out more restaurant picks in our Ocean City Dining Guide.
