Planning the Perfect Golf Trip to Ocean City MD

Are you planning a golf trip for 2025? Have you considered making Ocean City, MD the destination? If not, we hope thig blog will make you reconsider.

While some people may not think of Ocean City, MD as a premier golf destination, there are tons of amazing golf courses within a an hour or so from the middle of OC! Not only that, but Ocean City has a TON of amazing restaurants, things to do, as well as clean & safe beaches- so there’s more to do than just golf.

If you’ve been talking with your golf group about where to take your trip in 2025, look no further. Today, we’re going to take the stress off of your shoulders and plan your Ocean City MD golf trip for you… Let’s dive right in!

Day 1: Arrival + an Optional Round of Golf

Morning: Get ready to leave! Make sure you remember all of the essentials and bring plenty of golf balls with you. Remember, you’re golfing near the beach, so most of our courses have plenty of water hazards… so you’re bound to lose a ball or two.

Late Morning: Play a round of golf at either Lighthouse Sound or Man O War. The reason we chose these courses is because they are both conveniently located on the way into Ocean City. Lighthouse sound is located right off of Rt. 90, and Man O War is located right off of Rt. 50.

Lighthouse Sound features picturesque views of Ocean City and is an impeccably well-kept golf course. Man O War is a links style golf course and is one of 2 on property at Glen Riddle. Click here to read a bit more about these golf courses!

Afternoon: Check in to your Central Reservations vacation rental! Our check in time is 3:00, but don’t worry, if you’re going to arrive after our office closes, you can give our team a call at 410-723-4111 to arrange for an after-hours check in.

Evening: Dine at one of our favorite restaurants in OC!

Day 2: Golf & OC Fun

Morning: Begin your day by either eating at one of our Top 5 breakfast spots in Ocean City or making breakfast for the whole crew!

Afternoon: Enjoy a round of golf at Rum Pointe! Rum Pointe is one of our favorite golf courses in town and was designed by world renowned golf course designer Pete Dye. Rum Pointe is enjoyable for all skill levels, has great views, and is only about a 20–30-minute drive from OC!

Evening: After you get back to your awesome Oceanfront Vacation rental, you can shower up and head out to dinner!

Pro tip: head on over to your rentals listing on our website and scroll to the bottom to see some food and activity options nearby! For example, if you’re staying at the Gateway Grand, it would look like this.

Day 3: Golf & Beach Day

Morning: On the last full day of your Ocean City, MD golf trip get ready because you’re getting up early! Head on over to Baywood Greens in Longneck Delaware or War Admiral in Berlin.

Yes, we know Baywood greens is a bit of a hike outside of Ocean City, but the course is absolutely stunning and is known as one of the most pristine courses in our area.

War Admiral is the second course on Glen Riddle’s property and is a significantly different experience than its sister course, Man O War.

Afternoon: Head to the beach & grab lunch at one of our top 5 lunch spots in Ocean City!

Evening: If you’re staying at one of our Bayfront Vacation rentals, sit back, relax, and enjoy a sunset and a home cooked meal! If you don’t have the energy to cook after a long day of fun, head to your favorite restaurant in OC!

Day 4: Departure

Morning: Our check out time is 10:00AM, so first things first you’ll need to check out of your vacation rental. If you’re a real golf junkie, grab some breakfast and play some golf at Ocean City Golf Clubs Newport Bay course on the way out!

Afternoon: Drive home & leave us a 5 star google review! We feel like we earned it… not only did we give you a place to stay, we gave you great golf course recommendations & dining recommendations as well!

Additional Tips

1. Consider booking a Ruark Golf package to save money. Ruark is the ownership group of Lighthouse Sound, Rum Pointe, both Glen Riddle Courses, and Nutters Crossing in Salisbury. They have some great package deals!
2. If you want every last detail planned for you, check out Pam’s Golf. They have the Kyma Luxury Villas listed on their website, which is on of the most popular places for golf trip groups to stay in Ocean City!
3. Make sure you book a local vacation rental! Staying in a hotel during your golf trip can take away from the experience because everyone has to shuffle to their own rooms at the end of the night. If you stay in a Central Reservations Vacation Rental, you can enjoy everyone’s company for the whole trip!
